I am an artist from West Bengal India specializing in mythological paintings, rural Indian paintings and nature centric paintings. My medium of expression moslty varies between watercolor, oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas and sculpture. Ever since I was a kid, I used to draw and paint from images that lingered in my imagination. Part of that imagination was inspired by the works of Rabindranath Tagore. While at Kaala Bhaban in Shantiniketan, I came in close association with the works of Somenath Hore and Ram Kinkar Bez that have influenced my thoughts and my techniques.

New artwork uploaded....Herdsmen taking their goats to pasture. forest scene, watercolor painting, nature art, silhouette figures, tranquil landscape, green tones, pathway, peaceful art, outdoor exploration, serenity This evocative watercolor captures a serene moment in nature, where figures wander through a lush, verdant forest. The gentle brushstrokes portray a tranquil path, inviting viewers to lose themselves in the peaceful ambiance. The interplay of light and shadow enhances the sense of depth, creating an atmosphere of quiet contemplation. This artwork appeals to nature lovers and those who appreciate the beauty of everyday moments, making it a perfect addition to any collection focused on tranquility and harmony. The painting depicts a serene forest scene featuring three silhouetted figures walking along a winding path. Lovers by Tapos Das

New artwork uploaded....Image of a metal sculpture of a couple on a solitary bench. Welded metal. metal sculpture, abstract figures, intimacy art, modern design, industrial style, textured metal, couple embrace, contemporary sculpture, minimalist bench, artistic expression This striking metal sculpture captures the essence of intimacy and connection through the abstract representation of a couple in an embrace. The artist skillfully combines industrial materials with delicate forms, creating a stunning contrast that speaks to the resilience of love. Ideal for modern spaces, this piece invites viewers to ponder the emotional depth and narrative within the figures, making it a captivating focal point in any collection. The sculpture depicts a couple seated closely on a minimalist metal bench, their bodies intertwined in a gentle embrace. The figures are crafted from rusted metal, showcasing a range of textures, from smooth surfaces to jagged edges. The use of muted metallic tones, primarily grays and browns, highlights the organic forms of the couple, while the contrasting dark umbrella adds a dramatic element. The bench is simple, with thin metal bars that create a sense of openness, allowing light to filter through and illuminate the figures. The overall composition evokes a sense of warmth and connection amidst the industrial materials. Visually similar to Alberto Giacometti's works, this sculpture shares a theme of human connection through elongated forms and a raw materiality. Like Giacometti's figures, the emphasis on texture and the emotional resonance of the embrace evoke feelings of loneliness and companionship, while the industrial aesthetic aligns with modernist principles seen in works by artists like Richard Serra.
