Artist, Photographer, Art Historian, Writer, Art Enthusiast
Being a historian by training, my world is bound by a rigid academic life dealing with the narratives of the past, its philosophies and their various interpretations. An escape from such cocooned academic discourse has always been in the form of my deep interest in reading and writing poetry; in the appreciation of art and occasional strokes in my sketch book and in experimentation with various themes in photography. Owing to my growing up in Kharagpur, Delhi and Kolkata, I have themed my snaps on flora and rural life to old architecture and students movements. I started capturing shots out of mere hobby and out of curiosity of exploring my talent in this art, but over the years my interest has taken a more academic turn; wherein I am trying to experiment the use of this creative art in the expression of the core discourses of the social sciences and to research the possibilities of going beyond conventional academic boundaries through the language of photography.

New artwork uploaded....The hospice of 13th century Chisti sufi saint, Sheikh Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya, is one of the very few abodes in South Asia where people from all social, cultural and religious backgrounds throng in millions to pay their respects and pray for better health and life. This composite nature and all encompassing feature of the hospice has been running down from the days of the Sheikh himself, whose generosity and love sheltered the poor, hungry and the maimed. Here, one always finds the Bliss of Spring even in the midst of harsh Winter. Nizamuddin Dargah, New Delhi-August,2016 black and white photography, mosque scene, cultural diversity, spiritual journey, urban life, community gathering, architectural details, traditional attire, devotion and faith, dynamic composition This evocative black and white photograph captures the vibrant life surrounding a sacred space. The black and white palette accentuates the contrasts, highlighting the textures of the clothing and the ornate features of the mosque.
